In addition, this role will assist with identifing problems and applying corrective actions throughout the project management life cycle to other challenged projects. The Project Manager role provides the consolidated viewpoint of project status that enabled Microsoft Services leadership to have knowledgeable, data specific discussions with customers on long-term or complex engagements. The following specific activities and deliverables outline the high-level responsibilities:

Project Management. Perform the following key activities to ensure quality execution in the delivery of a service/solution, to deliver within constraints (schedule, features/functionality, and budget), and manage customer conditions of satisfaction.

Project Scope: Manage the work that must be done in order to deliver an integrated solution usually composed of products, services, or a formalized solution offering.

Risk Management: Establish a strategy of continuous risk management that enables proactive decisions and actions throughout the project life cycle and create an environment to support it where the project team has visible, measurable, and repeatable processes for managing these risks

Execute Project Protocol: Execute establish (as mutually agreed to) policies and procedures for the project, e.g. quality assurance, team reference guide, communication plan, and setting up the environment.

Resources: Manage Microsoft resources, partners and/or customer resources and materials (equipment, supplies, stock, or consumable/perishable items) used to complete tasks in a project.

Administration: Maintain a Master Project Plan to include at least: the Communication Plan (communications within the team and between the team and external entities) and the Team Reference Guide Plan (identifies team and external team members). In addition, maintains the Master Project Schedule.

Track and Control: Stay current and involved in collecting conditions of the project relative to resources (people and optionally funding/cost), schedule (time), and features (the solution and its quality) as specified by the established project protocol. In addition, perform the process of comparing actual performance with planned performance, analyze variances, evaluate possible alternatives and take appropriate corrective action (control) as specified by the established project protocol.

Status Reports: Collect, access and publish project status with regard to resources (people and optionally funding/cost), schedule (time), stakeholder management, and features (the solution and its quality) that influence project performance and completion.

Project Assessment and Recovery: When required, assist with the assessment of project performance with regards to execution in the delivery of challenged engagement delivery. Once the assessment is complete the project manager may be required to direct the recovery by taking control of all the key project areas whilst maintaining a good relationship with the local subsidiary team such that the local team can regain their control when the project is back on track.

Tools/Process: Use Microsoft Project as the project management application and utilize the Services Delivery Methodology (SDM ). Use the principles of the Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF ) and the Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF ). 

Qualifications:
Must have a degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience. Higher relevant education preferred. 
At least 10+ years related technology experience. 
Excellent project management capabilities, PMP certification required
Must have managerial skills and the ability to handle complex critical situations with managing a range of different stakeholders and conflicting interests
Ability to work in changing environments with changing resources and proven ability to provide stability to challenged teams and the projects
Excellent English language skills and the ability to present for top management. Excellent French and/or Arabic language skills will be a distinct advantage
13,000 hours (at least 9 years) of documented project management experience
Have worked on projects with a total billed hours of 5,000 hours Fixed Price or 15,000 hours Time and Materials (approximately USD $1,000,000 and $3,000,000 respectively)

Job Description Title: Project Management Excellence (PMX) Manager The Project Management Excellence (PMX) Manger is responsible for working within the Worldwide Services Business Desk (SBD), a group tasked to assist the field with both complex and non-complex services deals (deal structure, contracting, negotiation, pricing, financing, etc), ensure adherence to group guidelines and policies, and provide feedback and guidance to business program groups for the development of future services offerings The mission of PMX is to provide the Microsoft Services Field with specific project management support for large/complex engagements and projects, during deal shaping, approval, delivery and closure.  The PMX Primary Objectives are:  - Promote excellence in execution and continuous improvement in project management services (including processes, tools and templates) provided by PMX and the larger SBD group worldwide.  - Share best practices and lessons learned among PMX, SBD and Services personnel worldwide. - Support the growth and development of the Project Manager role/community and communicate the value proposition of PMX to internal and external stakeholders - Provides tactical, hands-on project management support to the field on complex opportunities and engagements  - Serve as the subject matter expert and supporter in determining how Microsoft Services areas of quality are defined, delivered and measured world-wide. ROLE PURPOSE

The Channel Development Manager (CDM) is a senior field channel marketing role, designed to lead and direct a strategic and execution-based end-to-end marketing focus to drive channel recruitment and development and stimulate sales activation with transactional partners (Distributors, Large Enterprises, and Scale Resellers). CDMs execute channel sales initiatives and community models to recruit and activate tele-managed and "Programmatic" partners who sell into small and midsized (SMB) customers (5-250 PCs). The CDM reports into Partner Strategy and Programs (PS&P).

The CDM focuses on the following three key responsibilities:

Arranging Executive Briefing Center visits and bi-directional connection with Microsoft Product Development Groups and many other teams and communities.

Business-driven portfolio value management: The role takes a principled approach first to understand the customer's needs and then to develop roadmaps of change that realize value from their Microsoft investment across a heterogeneous IT environment. Activities include:
Creating business case development and benefits management programs that define, track and report accrued value through the optimal application of IT to business challenges.
Orchestrating and/or designing and architecting solutions that leverage both the investment made in the Microsoft Enterprise Agreement and the customer's current heterogeneous IT environment in the best interests of the customer, driven through a formal program of change and drawing from the collective know-how of Microsoft.
Providing portfolio governance and oversight to drive lifecycle optimization and alignment across all Microsoft-related initiatives.

Teaming to accelerate value: When a Microsoft customer invests in an Enterprise Agreement license with Microsoft, the Enterprise Advisor accelerates the time-to-value by aligning the technology deployment and business adoption plans with the customer's broader organizational objectives. Activities to support this objective include:
Creating architectural and technology roadmaps that result in stronger business/IT alignment and that drive adoption and value from the Enterprise Agreement.
Orchestrating the use of the Microsoft network of resources formally from within the Advisor's individual engagement. This can range from formal Solution Architecture through to general technology consulting and beyond. Likewise an Advisor may be called on by colleagues to contribute from their area of specialization in other large engagements or to work jointly with the Microsoft support team around specific customer initiatives.

Practice development: In this role you'll contribute to the growth and maturity of the local and international communities by provide mentorship, fostering knowledge transfer and by leading by example. In addition, opportunities exist to contribute to IP development and reuse initiatives and drive proven practices in architecture, planning, and customer relationships.
