Assistant Relationship Manager - Standard Chartered - Qatar




Job Description

• Assist the Relationship Managers in developing and maintaining a portfolio of both existing and target client relationships to maximize client revenues within the Portfolio Underwriting Standards and acceptable risk profile requirements.
• Liaise with clients and internal teams to maintain the flow of necessary information and reports to ensure the team remains appropriately informed or client activities and performance, and to resolve operational challenges as they arise.


Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Maintain and exercise control over client accounts to ensure that services to customers are of the highest standard
• Prepare management reports relating to credit approvals, excesses, extensions.
• Monitor customer activities and performance, in order to minimise the risk of loss to the Bank.
• To ensure that all the administrative functions of the team / portfolio are performed accurately and on a timely basis, in accordance with approved procedures.
• Preparation of complex Business Credit Applications, including all the required items in the BCA checklist.
• Liaise proactively with product partners for origination, processing and closure of deals.
• Liaise regularly with other departments and product partners to resolve operational problems as they arise, including Transaction Banking, Project Finance, Financial Markets, Legal, Compliance, Trade Operations, and Credit Operations.
• Assist in preparing industry studies to improve knowledge within Client Relationships of specific markets and industries.


Qualifications & Skills

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Economics, Commerce, or similar
• Previous work experience within the Banking/Financial Markets sector
• Knowledge of FX, cash management, and trade finance documentation and associated risks highly preferable
• Ability to think "outside the box" and develop innovative solutions for Customer needs.
• Ability to work effectively in a team
• Ability to present and take clear, rational decisions.
• Strong inter-personal skills, with excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Attention to detail and highly responsive to the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
• Fluent English language skills, both verbal and written
• Arabic language skills preferred
