Credit Analyst Vodafone Qatar - Doha


Job Description

Role purpose: This role is responsible for defining the VF-QA credit policy, assessment / approval of enterprise credit limits and to ensure cross-company compliance to policy to minimise bad debt risk and financial exposure.

Key activities / decision areas
Credit Policy Definition and Compliance
- Responsible for the definition and regular review of the VF-QA Credit Policy document (subject to CFO and CEO approval) - including communication to business.
- Accountable and responsible to cross-company compliance to credit policy through regular reporting and analysis.
- Conduct credit limit reviews of customers based on payment patterns, age on network and usage.
- Responsible to ensure all exceptions to policy are approved, tracked and monitored.
- Responsible to highlight to senior management / credit manager critical incidences of non-compliance to policy where appropriate.
- Provide operational support to the business (Collections, Care, Sales and Retail) on credit related matters as required.

Enterprise Credit assessment and Dunning
- Responsible for the risk assessment and approval for all enterprise credit limit increases within a defined SLA
- Support Care Collections and Account Management teams with Key Account & Government collection to ensure appropriate actions are taken to collect outstanding debts whilst minimising impact to customer relationship.
- Assist with negotiation of customer disputes including settlement disputes where required and approved.

Blacklist & Debt Collection Agency (DCA) management
- Responsible for aged debt reporting and analysis.
- Responsible for maintenance and update of customer blacklist based on internal and external customer history data.
- Responsible for relationship with DCA for collection of bad debt as defined in the credit policy.
- Responsible for regular write off of unrecoverable bad debt after all recovery efforts have been carried out or where the recovery process is not cost effective to continue.

Desired Skills & Experience

Person specification
Essential role related knowledge, technical skills, qualifications and experience
- Bachelors degree required in Accounting/Finance preferred.
- At least 5 years related experience in credit control in either the Telecoms or Banking industry.
- Ability to assess customers risk while employing commercial sensitivity, business acumen, and good judgment.
- Effective business writing and professional communication skills.
