Job Description
Role Purpose
This position is responsible to analyse the business requirements spanning all areas of the business, identifying the impacts of new products, services, promotions and applications on existing business processes, systems and software. These must be clearly and concisely documented and the BA needs to be able to estimate size of the program of work in the various BSS areas e.g. CRM, Billing, Retail and Business Integration.
This position is responsible to ensure that solutions developed and implemented into the production environment meet the business requirements.
This position will lead the planning of analysis work on specific group of projects/program starting from Concept phase. This position will be responsible to ensure that the analysis deliverables are of a consistent and high standard for the area of their responsibility.
Role requirements - key accountabilities & activities
1. Manage the business requirements definition
Proactively work with Business Account Manager/Business Owner to identify business opportunities how we can deliver smart/faster and more efficiently to the business requirements
Identify and scope analysis work required and estimate effort required to assist the Project/Program Manager in planning the analysis component
Identify impacted business areas and conduct analysis to identify their business requirements and ensure that the requirements are in line with business objectives
Analyse impacts and dependencies with other projects / initiatives within the business, including likely future impacts
Analyse and document the current and desired future state of the business processes and system functionality
Ensure quality and timely delivery of business analysis documentation ie identify and utilise the appropriate methodology and templates , document the business requirements clearly and concisely, and publish requirements documentation by the agreed delivery date
Ensure the proper change management process to business analysis documentation is in place
Review functional specifications and/or design documents to ensure that all agreed requirements have been met
Review test strategies to ensure that all relevant business scenarios will be tested
Ensures that Business Requirements I signed off by the Business Sponsors and the Departments Heads
2. Building capability at Vodafone
Provide leadership within the Business Analysis team to up-skill other team members -> specifically in the area of their responsibility
Provide guidance, support and mentoring to all BA’s on the Program/Project and ensure the output from the BA’s on the team is of a consistent and high standard
Implement learning systems for Business Analysis team to ensure Vodafone’s Intellectual property/knowledge is up-to-date
Monitor emerging technologies and industry developments within the telecommunications industry – pro-actively learn and share the knowledge
3. Functional management
Ability to influence business owners and stakeholders in relation to business requirements feasibility
Identify improvement opportunities and ways to make BA team delivery within Vodafone Qatar more efficient and effective
