An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly talented and experienced Hospitality professional to join the Executive Team at the Burj Al Arab. The Director of Sales will ensure the continuity and operational consistency during the daily operation. The position is also responsible for increasing the up sells in order to maximize the overall revenue of the company. Ensuring the highest standards of service in accordance with the operating procedures of Burj Al Arab.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
Business Development
Sets and monitors annual commercial plan goals and sales targets.
Provides leadership in entrepreneurial sales & marketing activities
Ensures departmental policies and procedures are in place and adhered to.
Ensures Jumeirah Brand Standards are adhered to.
Continuously reviews procedures and processes within the department to achieve maximum profit, productivity and efficiency.
Continuously reviews product and branding to ensure we are selling creatively and offering a more innovative edge over our competitors.
Maintains a high standard of personal appearance at all times.
Liaises with relevant departments to ensure all customer needs and requests are met.
Maintains effective communication, with regular 1-2-1 and team meetings.
Identifies and builds productive relationships with business partners.
Leads the creation of flexible solutions to attract new and potential customers.
Coaches and is a mentor for the Sales team.
Complies with all regional reporting requirements in the said timeframe.
Represents the hotel at Road Shows, Trade Shows and management events.
Conducts site inspections and entertainment for Sales and PR.
Determines and implements the balance of business mix into the hotel.
Provides on the job and external training for colleagues in the department as required.
Maintains a current knowledge of Jumeirah products and services in order to cross sell and assist across the entire company.
Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the management

Proactively creates & leads business networking to meet strategic targets.
Ensure that performance of sales colleagues achieves Services Level Agreements.
Ensure the systems within Jumeirah enable the delivery of SLAs.
Set long and short-term strategic outputs for customer service.
Lead the development of flexible solutions which are attractive to customers
Profitable Market
Provide leadership with effective use of entrepreneurial approaches to sales.
Identify the benefits of Jumeirah products and services to individual customers to maximise revenue.
Maximise use of Cost of Sale information in strategic and tactical planning & operations.
Ensure that ADPs to achieve current portfolio revenue and profit targets and maximise future growth.
Identify and build business relationships with business influencers who can potentially generate new business.
Set, implement and monitor sales targets for each individual sales personnel.
Ensure that all plans are approved and implemented accordingly.
Develop and maintain effective business-partner relationships with all Stakeholders at all times to the benefits of the hotel and company.
Provide leadership through appropriate coaching sessions.
Use all available media and market intelligence to ensure up to date knowledge of the market and prospective clients is available at all times.
Provide leadership in using customer to trigger information to identify key business connections.
Ensure complete awareness of current state & future growth of Jumeirah.
Identify and build business relationships with key business influencers to monitor likely changes.
Prepare annual commerical plan to meet Jumeirah’s business targets.
Monitor and drive the implementation of annual business plans, evaluate and modify as necessary, taking into account business changes
Effective Communications
Ensure regular and timely market and sales intelligence communication with required stakeholders in the hotel and Jumeirah GSO colleagues.
Coach colleagues in effective methods of all communication channels.
Assign and monitor single point of contract.
Set and maintain empowerment criteria for sales colleagues.
Ensure the collection of performance feedback which enables accurate evaluation and development on a regular basis.
Ensure that all colleagues are confident that their opinions are valued.
Feedback customer and partner comments to colleagues in all areas.
Ensure that all customers and partners have a sales point of contact and accurately identify that person.
Ensure all customers receive timely feedback and information.
Lead the regular and frequent colleaction of useful customer and partner feedback.
Act on all feedback promptly and appropriately.
Use feedback constructively to adapt working methods and develop best practice.
Ensure that all sales colleagues share tactics for collecting, recording and sharing all communications.
Lead sales communications to deliver Jumeirah’s business targets.
Collect and feedback customer/partner comments to appropriate colleague in the hotel and within Jumeirah.
About You:
In order to be considered for this role, It is essential that you have a minimum of five years experience in a Sales Director role within the hospitality & hotel management segment, preferably with pre-opening experience. You shall with a proven experience in leading a team of sales & marketing professionals.
You will also have Knowledge of our key markets essential UK, Russia & CIS, Europe and GCC, as well as, proven experience in strategic thinking and drawing up strategic sales and marketing plans.
You are a sales driven with proven ability to close sales and achieve results. You has a high level commercial & decision making skills.Presentation and public speaking attributes will be a must.
