Passionately lead the strategy and excellence for both brands, adidas and Reebok, in EM ensuring a sustainable and profitable mono-brand (Own retail, Franchise & eCommerce) market share growth preserving long term brand value and brand recommendation and driving the transformation towards building Omni-channel capabilities. Identifying, developing and implementing Direct to Consumer strategies in accordance with the adidas Group Vision for a profitable growth of the Group brands in close cooperation with the Global Retail COE and the Retail Directors in Market Clusters thereby ensuring consistency and executional excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Represent all aspects of Retail Strategy and Excellence within the Senior Leadership Team in Emerging Marketing including and not limited to developments in Franchise, Real Estate, Store Operations in close cooperation the respective Market MDs representing EM South, East, North, Cyprus 1 and Central.
Design and lead the strategy for VM implementation and Store Development ensuring alignment with Global guidelines.
Maximize the profitability of the Emerging Market Retail Portfolio by managing depreciation line & ongoing investments for Store Development and ensure high level of efficiency, executional excellence and compliance with legal and local regulation.
Build a trading and service culture within Emerging Markets Mono-branded environment maximising consumer experience at all touch points within own, franchise retail and e-commerce environment by ensuring the CSM model and similar Global strategies are implemented in the stores.
Share best practices from other markets and from within clusters to maximise ROI, improve CAPEX planning and bring cost efficiencies and drive DTC innovation in Emerging Markets.
Adhere to Global standards for all retail marketing, visual merchandising, CSI model, New Store Formats, premium presentation and other store related activities, and monitor/evaluate established processes to guarantee stores’ full compliance.
Manage and control operational expenses (OPEX) in line with the Market retail budget.
Critically evaluate all current processes within the Market and ensure these comply with all Global Retail CoE standards, unless legally prohibited from doing so.
Manage the Store Development centralisation approach to ensure consistent approach towards opening, re-modeling and closure of stores
Analyse business performance and seize business opportunities across the Markets to meet and/or exceed KPIs and financial targets and also present current and future industry trends.
Drive Store Operations excellence by studying reasons for low conversion rate and implement consistent and measurable improvements in CS and Franchise Stores.
Act as counterpart for local CTC or market retail directors and raise local topics to global
At all times maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction through strategic partnering with Marketing and Sales Departments for adidas & Reebok Brand.
Provide a suitable performance framework for direct reports by setting SMART performance targets and coaching for continuous improvement.
Identify and develop high-potential talents, to fuel the team's succession plan.
Look for opportunities to provide cross-functional experiences to identify high-potential talents from both, in and outside of the team.
Establishing the franchise business in line with the defined standards and guidelines of the Franchise Synergy Project driven from the Global Franchise Team
Drive the Retail 5 P’s : People , Product , Premises, Processes and Profit to continuously maximize profitability from the store portfolio whilst ensuring this covers the requirements for EM in conjunction with key stakeholders including the MD and Global Retail COE
Desired Skills and Experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to develop and implement strategy
Leading and managing a diverse team (incl. remote management)
Strong presentation/communication, negotiation and influencing skills
Broad Retail experience, with a distinct track record of success and high-level Merchandising, Franchise and Store Operational knowledge
Cross-functional experience across commercial functions (e.g. marketing, sales, etc.) and support functions (finance preferred), as well as different organizational levels (Global, Market, etc.)
Strong FMCG industry knowledge leading a retail strategy
Expert understanding of local Market's consumers, accounts, economic environment and commercial needs
Requisite Education and Experience/Minimum Qualifications
University degree in Business or a minimum of 12 years equivalent professional experience, ideally in Sales and/or Marketing
Minimum of 5-8 years in Retail Industry ideally at the Head of Department or equivalent level
Fluent in English
