Job Description
The Project Director is responsible for, and drives, all aspects of management of complex government projects. This includes preparing market intelligence, managing the strategic planning of the project, pitching of various products and services, scope, risk, and stakeholder management.
The Strategic Project Manager takes responsibility throughout the duration of the project, including both the business and technical aspects of the project, from establishing the project through to booking the revenue and deployment of the solution.

Projects are typically managed via cross-functional, collaborative, agile project teams. The Strategic Project Manager will typically manage high risk, complex, business critical Projects involving large/multiple teams in multiple locations.
The Strategic Project Manager will need to build and develop strong relationships with government entities, large companies and financial firms that will bring value to Thomson Reuters at various customer segments.
The role requires the proactive engagement with regional government bodies, understanding core requirements, communicating and showcasing Thomson Reuters services and capabilities across various business lines, working with relevant internal and external stakeholders to develop applicable propositions, and winning business with targeted institutions
Take ownership for sourcing, preparing and delivering of complex projects with government entities and public sector institutions
Work closely with regional leadership teams in the development and enhancement of their government growth strategy, and ensure delivery of revenue targets

Responsibilities:
Managing the stakeholders expectations both internal and external.
Works in conjunction with the Customer, Business Analyst and Product to define project scope and objectives and creation of Business Cases
Accountable for Project budget - manages resource profile, financials and reporting
Responsible for effective project planning, including overall project plan and time box plans
Responsible for exhibiting project control over project scope, timeframes and costs for each project, supported by creation and maintenance of standard project documentation and approaches
Identifies and proactively manages corrective actions if scope, quality, costs, resources or timescales deviate from agreed tolerances.
Actively manages change control, gaining agreement for revisions to the project from project stakeholders and ensure full impacts of significant changes are understood by project stakeholders.
Proactively engage with regional government bodies, understanding core requirements, communicating and showcasing Thomson Reuters services and capabilities across various business lines, working with relevant internal and external stakeholders to develop applicable propositions, and winning business with targeted institutions

Develop a strong understanding of our products and services across Thomson Reuters customer segments
Support regional leadership team in the development and refinement of government growth plans, drawing from previous experience to identify opportunities, requirements, and ‘go to market’ strategy
Build a pipeline of opportunities and coordinate with various sales specialists and account managers to close deals and deliver world-class service
Identify public and private sector key accounts based on strategy and priorities of business, arranging and attending meetings with senior government and public sector representatives
Leverage existing contacts, work with third parties and prospect to establish relationships as appropriate
Draft formal letters and requests for meetings with senior executives, government officials and representatives
Attend high-level networking functions and social events providing access to influential decision makers
Communicate our propositions to government and corporate representatives, qualify scope of opportunity and provide clear, structured feedback to internal stakeholders
Proactively source government tenders, formal requests for proposal and unsolicited proposals through engagement, clarify the scope of work as appropriate, and prioritize opportunities
Demonstrate thought leadership on topics of relevance, speaking at conferences as appropriate

Qualifications

Qualifications:
· Bachelors Degree in Economics/Business/Law/Finance/Engineering/IT· MBA or Masters Degree Preferred Required Skills:
Proven track record in project managing and winning bid in the government client services space for over 7 years
Must have excellent communication/interpersonal skills, and demonstrate a track record of building long-term relationships with large government clients
Strong consulting/strategy/advisory background preferred, particularly within a fee-generating context
Experience in Financial, Legal, Tax, IT and New Media industries preferred
Knowledge of Thomson Reuters products and services is a strong plus
Fluency in languages relevant to region (Arabic, French and/or Turkish) is a strong plus
