As a Gensler Design Director, you will lead a creative, collaborative team dedicated to innovative problem solving and design excellence. Use your unique design perspective to bring new approaches to design process and strategy, develop next-generation talent, and help our clients redefine what’s possible.
You will create and develop overall design concepts, formulate design presentation strategies, and provide creative and process leadership to multiple design teams through all phases of projects and a variety of project types. The position requires both exceptional design skills and a portfolio of innovative design solutions with an emphasis on built work. Candidates must be team oriented with a passion for mentoring and teaching.
What You Will Do
Lead the creative efforts on client projects, developing overall design concepts and design presentation strategies
Mentor and provide creative direction to design teams
Act as the primary design interface with clients and consultants
Collaborate with team members and colleagues to promote an inter-disciplinary design approach and philosophy
Participate in business development and marketing efforts
Your Qualifications
10+ years’ professional experience
Advanced degree in Architecture or Design preferred
Experience creating and developing overall design concepts and formulating design presentation strategies with an understanding of trends in large, shell/core architectural design
Outstanding graphic presentation skills
Proven track record of success in maintaining and growing client relationships
Strong, persuasive communicator with excellent verbal presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex design concepts to clients
International design experience a plus
A desire to mentor team members, offer guidance and leadership
Experience with Revit, AutoCad and other relevant software
