IT Applications Manager - Huawei Technologies - Bahrain


Job description
Ensuring 24x7 availability and uptime for the IT applications stack. (CRM, Billing, Middleware, Provisioning etc.)
+10 years experience in managing IT Applications for Telecom domain especially the Oracle BSS applications suite.
Strong understanding of information systems and business processes in the Telecom Industry
Supervising +30 resources team and resolving daily Trouble tickets and operational tasks as per assigned SLA / KPI.
Plan, direct, coordinate and review the work plan for staff. Assign work activities, projects and programs. Review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures. Meet with staff to identify and resolve problems and ensure optimal staff utilization.

Analyze business systems to determine effectiveness. Identify inadequacies, inefficiencies and problems and recommend solutions. Develop system specifications. Recommend application software development.
Conduct diagnostic investigations of program errors and implement or recommend solutions or methodologies for resolution
Attend and participate in professional group meetings. Stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of information systems
Ensure that the team (and other IT members) are responding to, and troubleshooting, reported problems pertaining to the application performance and reliability
Manage internal customers' expectations and project progress, and ensure regular project updates reflecting any delays, issues and risks
Cross train in other areas to gain a better understanding of the technical functions performed
Participate in the employee interview/selection process. Train, evaluate and communicate with assigned staff. Provide or coordinate training. Work with employees to correct deficiencies.
Establish project plan and project team resources (mostly on matrix model), hardware, software and external services required for delivery
Evaluate employee performance and provides for development and training of staff.
Perform related duties and responsibilities as required

Desired Skills and Experience
10+ years of Experience in Telecommunication Industry in IT Applications/Operations.
5+ years experience in Managerial Position
7+ years experience of people management (at least managed a team of +20 resources)
Expertise in Oracle IT BSS suite (CRM – Siebel, AIA, OSM, ASAP, ERP)
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer science or equivalent
Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment / GCC region is a plus
Experienced in leading projects on new brand integration and deployment,
Good facilitator with strong leadership and senior level credibility, ability to work in a challenging and dynamic environment with a process mindset, excellent written and verbal communications skills, analytical and attention to detail.
Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel) and other applications
Excellent organization, teamwork, problem-solving, and communication (verbal and written) skills.
