Planning & Strategy Manager
Department Overview:
MENA Planning & Strategy was introduced in 2010 and has proved a strong support network to sales, global and across a number of local teams. It works across the entire region, with bases in UAE, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi and Morocco. The P&S team provide media solutions for key clients and agencies. Integrated solutions are key, and include brand advertising, sponsorship, custom solutions, micro sites, behavioral targeting, Direct Response, video, competitions and general out of the box thinking. The team should sit as pioneers in custom solution and creative thinking. Project management forms an integral part of P&S, being the main point of contact and driver for coordinating and facilitating new solutions for the region.
Responsibilities:
The role has two main components: MENA sales support (responding to inbound briefs, proactive country material, etc.) & Project Management concentrating on facilitating new products and solutions.
Taking briefs from MENA Sales Teams in & reacting accordingly with the right solutions from a portfolio of potential solutions Yahoo! has to offer
Creating proposals and proactive pitch material for sales
Identifying and project managing new reports to distribute to sales (from PYM, FinOpps, etc.)
Liaising with internal departments to ensure the best solutions are created: Ad Opps, Product, account managers, and sales.
To be able to brainstorm and create media first ideas
Creating visual presentations for pitches & assisting sales to create presentations.
Maintain & update any sales collateral and shared drive material
Working with regional and global product launches to ensure smooth go to market strategy and material
Formalizing monetization business cases for new solutions including enhanced targeting
Aiding in new solutions testing and adapting to regional market requirements
Working together with Ad Tech and CBE to introduce enhanced Ad placements and products across all Yahoo! Maktoob channels
Thought leadership – coordinating sessions for internal education to support sales and other functions
Creating regularly updated country focused material for MENA to support the sales effort.
Helping to coordinate ad hoc initiatives with global teams, e.g. The Source
Requirements:
Experience creating media plans
Track record in creating proposals from scratch incorporating all potential solutions and elements of the marketing mix
Experience in an online environment eg. results driven agency or media owner
Candidates should be passionate about the internet & providing a quality experience to advertisers and users alike
Ability to engage at a junior & senior level within agency, media owner or client
Ability to create new sales programmes, sponsorship programmes, custom bespoke packages for clients
Actively participate in educating and informing internal teams on product developments
Develop a strong understanding of the sales process including campaign conception
An understanding of how international teams work.
Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop.
Expertise in MS Office
Experience & understanding of media research tools preferred
English & Arabic (required); French (desirable)
