TITLE: CHANNEL DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
LOCATION: Dubai, UAE
ROLE PURPOSE
The Channel Development Manager (CDM) is a senior field channel marketing role, designed to lead and direct a strategic and execution-based end-to-end marketing focus to drive channel recruitment and development and stimulate sales activation with transactional partners (Distributors, Large Enterprises, and Scale Resellers). CDMs execute channel sales initiatives and community models to recruit and activate tele-managed and "Programmatic" partners who sell into small and midsized (SMB) customers (5-250 PCs). The CDM reports into Partner Strategy and Programs (PS&P).
The CDM focuses on the following three key responsibilities:
Drive the business and stimulating sales activation though community engagement vehicles (e.g. portals, newsletters, and blogs), driving and landing launch & channel campaigns, and driving utilization of partner promotions, offers, and landing channel incentives both for commercial and Public sector.
Growing the business through the use of analytics to assess the channel, building Partner Capacity Plans, and developing and implementing marketing plans with Distributors and Scale Resellers.
Exceeding Partner Satisfaction through end-to-end marketing excellence and evangelizing the Microsoft Partner Network and self-service resources.
The key traits of a world class CDM include a deep working knowledge of the Microsoft Marketing Platform and Microsoft Partner Ecosystem; expertise at developing and implementing marketing campaigns that deliver outstanding return on investment with broader partner audiences; providing marketing leadership across partners, field, and Corporate team members; and demonstrating expertise in marketing operations to exceed sales plan and correct any gaps.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Sales Execution Excellence
Implement Office specific business plans with account managers and key non-retail & retail accounts as well as Multi National Accounts.
Build new opportunities to sell Office through hard bundles, promotions and capture marketing opportunities such as seasonal spikes and market dynamics.
Engage directly with field sellers to gain field insight and drive execution of activities on ground and ensure weekly reporting and alignment on programs and progress of run-rate business.
Product Expertise
Be widely acknowledged as the local subject matter expert on your product/solution set
Align messages with the end goal to think and act as "One Microsoft" and meeting the business objectives of Microsoft's customer, initiative and product marketing teams by developing synergistic customer value propositions crossing product, segment and ecosystem boundaries.
Drive marketing strategy planning, value proposition landing, and targeting to all relevant audiences; also design local offers based on local market analysis and Business group goals.
Is the subject matter expert on relevant competitors and advocate key compete strategy execution to win market share.
Subsidiary Marketing Leadership:
Manage the delivery of high impact marketing through connected sales and marketing motions in alignment with overarching local Information Worker Business Group strategies.
Carefully weigh available marketing activity and execution alternatives to exclusively execute the ones with the highest impact and longevity, thus minimizing short term ad-hoc program execution ("fewer, bigger, better").
Validate readiness materials & align readiness activities with promotions
Compile and track feedback from readiness touch points and translate into marketing engines and segment priorities.
Ensure appropriate levels of readiness in each gulf country.
High Impact Marketing:
Own Office unmanaged marketing programs including Legal Corporate Affairs, Corporate, Finance approvals and segment alignment to land marketing initiatives.
Maintain high degree of accountability on budget management for marketing and demonstrate clear ROI from initiatives.
Demonstrate leadership in digital marketing both through execution of successful local initiatives and support of regional/global initiatives on Information Worker technology.
Provide timely updates and feedback to Corporate on product marketing and campaign execution in the Subsidiary.
Own monthly & quarterly correction of error plans across country and segments and ensure upward and downward reporting of progress and escalations of risks.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BRING:
Experience 5 - 8 years of channel programs/development experience with proven results
Education: Bachelor's Degree (B.S./B.A.) MBA preferable
Field of Study : Marketing, Business Administration
Understanding how MS partners market/sell to small and medium business customers
Demonstrable experience devising marketing programs to meet the needs of channel partners
Passion for driving results and seeing projects through to completion
Arabic or Hindi is a plus
Managing multi country jobs is a plus
Local experience is a must
