Corporate Communications Manager at BNP Paribas


Job Description

MAIN MISSION

To manage BNP Paribas Middle East and Southern Africa’s internal and external corporate communications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Copyrighting
Ensure that internal and external communication are aligned
• Write all external communications, including: releases, brochures, invitations, speeches/speaking points, Q&As, holding statements, economic reports, etc.
• Prepare major presentations for internal and external events.
• Write various proposals and reports for the team’s projects (Media, CSR, business conferences, etc.)
• Prepare newsletters for clients and handle other client communication requests.
• Write website and intranet content
• Prepare script for movies, client interviews, etc.

Internal Communications
Manage internal communication throughout the bank’s growth, and ensure that all staff understand the business & where it is heading
• Prepare and implement an Internal Communications Plan
• Write and disseminate local newsletters
• Ensure the region’s visibility in global publications (newsletters, annual report, etc)
• Prepare quarterly video-taped management messages
• Share releases and important announcements with staff
• Measure internal perceptions and conduct a survey or focus groups to understand staff’s internal communication needs.
• Create and manage internal social media tools
• Organise the annual global event focusing on the region and gathering the bank’s top management

Media Content, analysis, and reporting
• Organise annual media audits
• Review analysis reports, and make recommendations accordingly
• Review content of media interviews and judge if the quotes/interviews are positive/safe to be issued.
• Prepare a key messages matrix for each business line
• Handle crisis communication

Agency Management and team management
• Manage a Corporate Communications Coordinator and a media specialist
• Manage the PR, advertising, graphic design and social media agency

Business conferences
• Negotiate business sponsorships and reply to all sponsorship requests
• Coordinate successful delivery of all sponsorships.
• Research available sponsorships that BNP Paribas can take part in
• Research conferences where management can be pitched as a speaker
• Organise an Annual BNP Paribas Business conference.

COMPETENCIES

 Profile: Corporate Communications Manager or current journalist
 Languages: Fluency in English
 Education: Degree in Communications, or literature from an International University
 Years of Experience: 5-8 years in the Communications field
 Experience: Proven experience in handling all tasks mentioned above.

SKILLS NEEDED

Must have
1. Excellent English writing and internal communication skills (preferably knowledge of financial writing)
2. Alert, sharp, motivated, committed and proactive
3. Excellent event and project management skills.
4. Excellent coordination and multitasking skills
5. Ability to work under pressure and extended hours (including week-ends) when needed, especially at times of crisis (if any) or prior to events.
6. Good Communications background
7. A good notion of superior customer service
8. Excellent computer skills
