The “TECHNICAL DIRECTOR” will manage the Technical management of complex systems & perform the Safety Critical System Engineering activities. He will manage the matrix organization with multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
Provides technical direction for the overall system design.
Technical interface to the Customer and consortium partners to define operational concept, system requirements and interfaces for all sub-systems/functions, and to get validation of design documents.
Organizes workshops with partners and customer.
Manages the team of architects for all sub-systems.
Co-chairs with the GTS Design Authority and the Integrated Design Authority committee in charge of technical co-ordination of the on-shore team and the off-shore sub-system delivery units involved in the project.
Co-ordinates delivery of system requirement specification and interface documents taking into account the consortium and customer viewpoints.
Reviews for consistency and approves top level design and interface documents produced by off-shore sub-system engineering teams.
Manages system configuration (the project referential, not in charge of the configuration management)
Manages the consolidated technical risk register of the project, and proposes mitigation scenarios.
Organizes and chairs the overall project design gates with support from Thales competence centres
Manages the technical support during installation, testing and commissioning and the resolution of technical issues.
Work with competence centres; Systems Engineering Managers (SEMs) to define and implement the overall project development strategy including but not limited to: Software release plans, integration and validation strategy; procurement, installation and testing & commissioning. As such acts as the main point of contact with SEMs
Maintain a consolidated Engineering Dashboard with support from SEMs in the competence centres.
Manage the local engineering team to ensure adequate skills and resources are available to deliver the project.
Put in place with support from competence centers a training program as required for the local team.

Skills and Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Electronics/Electrical or related field required.
Minimum of 12 years of successful experience in R&D and engineering, including complex customer projects and 5 years in technical or engineering management positions.
