New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Senior Director, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Community Programs, reporting to the Executive Director of the program.Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the Senior Director of the NYUAD Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Community Programs is based in Abu Dhabi and oversees the day-to-day academic and administrative functions of the department.

The Community Programs currently provide academic, leadership, and cross-cultural development opportunities to members of the local community ranging in level from high school to graduate/professional school. They are critical to the continuing success of the NYU Abu Dhabi enterprise in bestowing benefits to residents of the region that enhance their chances for success in prestigious and rigorous academic and professional endeavors.

Key Responsibilities

Under the general direction of and in coordination with the Executive Director of the NYUAD Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed (SMBZ) Community Programs, the Senior Director is responsible for overseeing the delivery of the following:

The Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Scholars Program (SMSP), a leadership development program at NYUAD for university students enrolled at the federal institutions of higher education throughout the UAE
The NYUAD Summer Academy, a college-preparatory program for Abu Dhabi-based Emirati high school students
The Young Filmmakers Workshop, an Image Nation-sponsored summer course at NYUAD for Emirati high school students
The Senior Director is responsible for day-to-day decision-making and will represent the Executive Director at numerous Abu Dhabi-based events and meetings. The individual will work most closely with the Executive Director (primarily located in New York), numerous NYU Abu Dhabi professionals and high profile institutions in the region.

As institutional commitment to community offerings increases, this department will grow its current programming and, thus, there will be a need for strategic planning, teamwork, and implementation skills. Oversight of these programs includes:

Recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes for all full- and part-time administrative and academic staff
Recruitment and admissions processes for students
Ensuring excellent academic delivery, and student and alumni affairs offerings for admitted students and their families
Preparing all reports and budgets affiliated with the programs.
Liaising with relevant internal and external constituencies to ensure satisfaction and compliance
