Preferred Qualifications

This position will drive a fully integrated communications agenda to build, promote and protect Oracle’s brand and reputation across the Middle East and Africa. Tightly linked with Sales and Field Marketing the role will create, integrate and execute communications programs to support the business and provide strategic communications counsel in delivering consistency of communication.

As a key role within Oracle EMEA Corporations this position will report directly to the VP Corporate Communications EMEA and becomes a member of the EMEA Corporate Communications strategy team.

Role & Responsibilities

· Tightly link all PR initiatives to Oracle’s overarching strategies and business priorities to establish Oracle as the global market leader in the Cloud

· Provide expert counsel in combining traditional and social communications programs into a cohesive approach across the Middle East & Africa

· Deliver clear and consistent messaging via the media and influencer landscape to further promote Oracle’s strategy, product innovation and customer successes

· Work with EMEA Corporate Communications leads to determine the appropriate communications strategy to showcase Oracle’s leadership and offerings in the Middle East and Africa

· Drive a strong executive communications program for Oracle MEA senior management

· Foster strong working relations with the media, bloggers and Oracle influencers

· Identify and manage the social interactions with Oracle’s influencer communities by surrounding them with a dynamic flow of news, opinion, commentary and expertise

· Identify emerging issues and trends that could impact Oracle’s business objectives and mitigate the impact of negative news on our business

· Direct and manage PR agency resources and integrate the corporate communications plans with local marketing campaigns

· Utilize the tools (PR Calendar, Media Centre, Meltwater) to manage swift approval processes, news distribution and reporting of results

Skills and Competencies

This role must be filled by an outstanding professional, passionate about communications with a zealous interest in learning and delivering results. He/she will have excellent strategic planning skills, a solid understanding of the B2B technology industry in the Middle East and Africa and proven communications and social media expertise.

Experience of working within a global enterprise and influencing senior management in a dynamic environment are essentials and a high degree of personal initiative, collaboration and written communication skills are absolutes.

A University degree is expected and the ability to travel will be required.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Development of communication programs to promote Oracle*s products and services.

Direct all marketing activities within the context of the overall corporate plan for the achievement of short and long term business objectives, increased profit and market control. Be an active member of the global Marketing team to ensure consistency of marketing campaigns and messages. Disseminate key corporate information to the line-of-business and geography operations pertaining to new product development/launches. Act as a liaison with management to ensure that marketing activities are in support of sales plans. Direct marketing resources and budget to be deployed using the most appropriate marketing mix for the line-of-business and/or geography. Ensure consistency between global directions and single-geography and/or line-of-business implementation choices. Implement and monitor advertising campaigns on a line-of-business and/or geographical basis. Maintain necessary contact with major suppliers, agencies, customers, industry associations and government representatives to achieve marketing objectives. Provide effective performance management: set clear goals for all staff, provide regular feedback on performance and conduct a formal appraisal at the conclusion of the fiscal year. Manage the activities of the staff according to overall marketing strategies and budgets. Implement organizational changes in line with changing business and market needs.

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Software business management experience. Sales and Marketing experience in the IT industry. E-business + Internet practical know-how. Professional credentials in Marketing, Academic credentials desirable. Past experience in Sales desirable.
