Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Director of Engineering to join the Jumeirah Group & Corporate team.
The main purpose of this role is to coordinate and oversee the daily operations of the engineering department, as well as, to ensure that the property and assets are maintained in the highest order through the implementation of the Jumeirah Engineering Management System, the appointment of suitable competent personnel, and to develop strategies for the future growth of the Engineering department and resort.
Your Main Responsibilities Would Be
Prepare the property operation for effective opening in accordance with the Jumeirah POP engineering guidelines
Scope and manage engineering projects
Ensure all Capital projects are conducted in line with company policies and procedures
Supervises and directs the daily activities of the Resident Engineers/Maintenance Managers
Monitors engineering activities to ensure adherence to established policies, operating procedures and standards
Prepares comprehensive budgets and forecasts to ensure the efficient and cost effective operation of the department
Oversees the implementation, co-ordination and monitoring of the JEMS (Jumeirah Engineering Management System). This includes the Fire, Life and Safety Matrix, PPM and work order system
Handles any grievances, suggestions and complaints forwarded by colleagues and recommends appropriate action
Responsible for appraising and formalising career development/training plans for direct reports
Submits a comprehensive monthly report to the General Manager/Group Director of Engineering
Be familiar with and comply with all relevant Engineering Department policies, processes and procedures
To ensure optimum use of utilities through energy management techniques
To promote the values, hallmarks and guiding principles of the company
To partake in occupational health and safety initiatives and form part of the SBU’s occupational health and safety committee
To perform other duties that management may from time to time reasonably require.
Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the management
About You:

In Order To Be Considered For This Role, It Is Essential That You Have
Mechanical or Electrical Higher diploma or equivalent
Certificate in project management
Diploma in Engineering management
Minimum of 5 Years post qualification experience in a 5 star hotel
Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role
Previous role in multicultural environment
Experienced in Fire & Life safety systems
Computer literate
Financial planning and accounting
Project management
