Senior Director - Performance Improvement - Government Sector - Ernst & Young - Safat


Job Description

As Senior Director, Performance Improvement you'll actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships. With guidance from partners and directors, you'll identify potential business opportunities for Ernst & Young. By drawing on your skills and experience, you'll create innovative commercial insights for clients, adapt methods and practices to fit operational team and cultural needs, and contribute to thought leadership.



You'll actively contribute to improving operational efficiency on projects and internal initiatives. In line with our commitment to quality, you'll consistently drive projects to completion and confirm that work is of a high quality. Your role in leading teams - or parts of teams - on engagements will depend on the size of engagement. When working on engagements, you'll report to higher levels of management, who will expect you to anticipate and identify risks, and escalate any issues as appropriate.

As an influential member of the team, you'll help to create a positive learning culture, coach and counsel junior team members and help them to develop.
Client responsibilities
► Lead performance improvement engagements within government entities
► Plan, prepare and review deliverables in various forms including written reports, presentations
and discussions with clients, Ernst & Young teams and other parties
► Communicate significant issues, fees, and estimates-to-complete to clients
► Leverage client relationships to drive new business opportunities
► Understand Ernst & Young's full service offerings and actively identify opportunities to better
serve clients.
► Build strong internal relationships within Ernst & Young Advisory Services and with other
services across the organization
► Develop your personal profile in the marketplace
► Develop awareness of Ernst & Young offerings in the marketplace
► Build strong, long-term relationships with key client sponsors
► Manage risk of delivery on client engagements
► Manage all financial aspects of client engagements
► Act as an ambassador for Ernst & Young in the market and with clients People responsibilities
► Develop people through effectively supervising, coaching, and mentoring all levels of staff
► Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for all levels of staff
► Drive people-related initiatives including recruiting, retaining and training Customer
professionals
► Maintain an educational program to continually develop personal skills of all levels of staff
► Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures and communicate these to all levels
of staff
► Act as a leader of the business and as a role model for staff

Desired Skills & Experience

Technical skills requirements
You'll have knowledge and experience of a number of the following areas:

Finance transformation
► Planning, budgeting and forecasting
► Performance measurement and performance management
► Business performance reporting
► Cost to serve & Cost reduction
► Ability to analyze complex problems and deliver insightful and practical solutions
► Ability to influence and persuade clients and stakeholders, in order to gain support for major
changes and key decisions
► Experience of the full project life cycle from concept through to implementation
► Customer strategy, including customer experience and customer operating models
► Sales and channel management, including sales force and marketing effectiveness, bid
management effectiveness and channel optimization
► Customer service improvement, including customer service performance improvement,
customer service recovery and contact centre optimization
► Customer intelligence and economics, including customer acquisition and retention, account
and channel segmentation

You'll have knowledge and experience in one or more of Ernst & Young's priority industry sectors:

► Government or Public Sector Additional requirements
► Specialist in serving Government Entities, in particular you should have worked in developing
Defense, Security, Education, Infrastructure or Public Financial Management
► Masters degree in Business administration or Business Psychology from a reputable
institution would be preferred but not essential
► Track record with a blue chip consulting organization and/or a blue chip organization or at
least 10 years industry experience
► Strong academic record including a degree (if specialism is customer strategy, this should
ideally be a marketing degree or an MBA
► Proficiency in Arabic language skills is required
► Demonstrated track record of structuring and managing projects or programs of work,
exceeding client expectations whilst managing project risks or issues
► Willingness and ability to travel across the MENA region
