Job Description

Group Description 

The Global Product Prepaid Group focuses company-wide efforts in driving overall transaction volume and profitable revenue growth for MasterCard's Prepaid portfolios in the region. This group actively collaborates with internal teams across MasterCard, and external parties including customers (Issuers, CGIs), merchants, and new strategic alliance partners to build innovative global product solutions targeted to capturing current and future card spending volume. 
The AP&MEA (Asia/ Pacific and Middle East & Africa) Prepaid team is responsible for managing and overseeing the regions’ prepaid product portfolio including the development of new products in line with regional trends. The team builds the strategic framework and manages cross-functional relationships across MasterCard to ensure successful development, rollout, management and growth of products/features/functionality in AP&MEA and coordinates product strategy with the leadership team of Global Core Products and Prepaid group. The team provides support to Account Teams, Expert Sales and identifies, develops and manages product solutions for merchants, issuers, partners and consumers across segments and the development of strategic business plans for prepaid products, including analysis of revenue opportunities and related costs.
Role Description 

The Business Leader, Product Development & Management, MEA will have accountability for developing prepaid products solutions across various verticals and managing relevant features & benefits that meet the needs of the various prepaid segments and leadership responsibilities for Prepaid across the 3 Divisions - Middle East & North Africa (MENA), Sub Saharan Africa (SSA) and South Africa. The role will develop market product strategies and roadmaps to ensure maximum product penetration of prepaid category including solutions for specific prepaid verticals. The person will also conduct opportunity assessments on new ideas and concepts & provide design specifications for product enhancements and engage and form partnerships / alliances. 

The Business Leader, Product Development & Management , MEA, will have accountability for developing & managing Prepaid Product Platform, Partners and Processes in MEA, as well as the go-to-market strategy, to ensure preference for MCW Prepaid products. The individual will also be responsible for managing the value chain partners in prepaid and for supporting Product Sales and Business Development Managers with presentations and customized product development requests. The individual will work closely with the global prepaid team and cluster product and sales teams to ensure alignment with the customer-focused strategy. 

The individual will also be responsible for the development and management of the existing Prepaid product team - Business Leaders in Dubai and Nigeria 

Major Responsibilities
Product Development/Management
• Execute against Cluster GTM plans and Product Lifecycle initiatives based upon regional & cluster priorities
• Collaborate with key constituents across the business (e.g., Global and Regional Account teams, Business Development, etc.) to manage the long-term growth strategy for GDV and revenues for the segment(s) in MEA
• Accountable for MasterCard's competitive positioning and developing features & benefits for the prepaid segment in MEA. 
• Develop and implement programs and new product development initiatives in accordance with cluster & regional plans and the NPD/Go-To-Market process
• Identification of product and service features and benefits required for the domestic market and gaps in MasterCard’s Prepaid product offerings, product vertical opportunities.
• Responsibility for cost management and delivery of these benefits with quantified metrics tied to customer plans that contribute to the management and growth of the prepaid products (i.e., developing product features and benefits targeted to various segments and verticals)
• Proactively identify specific product and segment development opportunities in co-ordination with other MasterCard functional, divisional, country and regional teams.
• Proactively identify issuer-centric and/or merchant-centric product solutions that attract and grow prepaid category spend and growth
• Leverages market insight from internal stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, and Advisors) and external stakeholders (Consumers, Merchants, and Issuers) in an effort to develop recommendations for product growth strategy
• Develops competitive intelligence tracking tools and draws analytical data from a variety of sources (e.g., competitive intelligence, Commerce Development, Advisors, etc.), to inform product strategy recommendations

Sales & Marketing
• Serve as the point of contact for prepaid product development for Consumers, Merchants, Issuers and prepaid partners (program managers, processors, distributors) etc.)
• Collaborate with Consumer and Customer Marketing leadership to support the launch of programs & benefits within the markets as well as work with the Marketing team in development of any collateral as required by the markets
• Partner with Global, Regional and National Account teams and Marketing to maintain and develop go-to-market strategies
• Support Product Sales and Account Teams in the creation of value propositions that leverage key features of existing and / or new product platforms from MC 
• Create and maintain a library of best practices and case studies on product development to be shared with Product Sales, Account Teams and Customers
• Develop presentations to proactively update & sell to issuers product opportunities/ innovations, market trends & MC advancements in product innovation relevant to the segment
• Work with Customer Delivery and Marketing teams to create and deliver new sales aids (e.g., Sales Presentations, fact sheets, implementation guides, etc.) to enhance product communications and sales efforts 

Leadership 

• Lead responsibility for Middle East & Africa, for developing and executing prepaid product strategies which maximize revenue and profit of Prepaid products.
• Ongoing oversight, execution and refinement of the prepaid strategy as it relates particularly to the Middle East & Africa markets
• Lead responsibility for development and expansion of prepaid product opportunities with Third Party Program Managers, Processors, Non Bank financial institutions
• Liaison with Global Prepaid Product Management in Purchase and Regional GP&S staff on policy definition, change requirements, waiver requests and strategy development
• Manage relationships with program managers / processors and other players in the prepaid value chain …to ensure a continued favorable bias towards MCW
• Identification and progress with potential partnerships in the online, telecom, mall, travel, Government, money transfer sectors to accelerate viable prepaid programs. 

Financial
• Develops financial business case for growing and guiding the evolution of products, features, and functionalities to meet the needs of the segment
• Monitor key product lifecycle performance metrics including revenue, expense, and delivery excellence. Assist with management of market product line P&Ls
• Support the development of strategic business plans for Prepaid products, including rigorous analysis of revenue opportunities and related costs 
• Develop MIS for existing programs, growth plans and create a dashboard for affluent programs working with
