Director of Standards GEMS Education. - Dubai

Reporting to the Senior Director of GEMS Quality Assurance Division, the Director of Standards will be a core member of a department. The department is an internal, independent function that ensures a separation of role between direct managers on one side, the agencies of active, support-led and vision-led change, and quality assurance on the
other, the independent agent of scrutiny and challenge.

Working with the Senior Director of Quality Assurance – the Director of Standards will;
  • Continue the development and implementation of quality assurance systems, policies and processes that are of
    the highest quality and that measure accurately the quality of GEMS Education to ensure that GEMS remains at the forefront of education delivery, outcomes and expertise.
  • Ensure that GEMS quality assurance processes meet the needs of GEMS schools, partner schools and consultancy projects and they provide robust qualitative and quantitive evaluation procedures that evaluate impact and value for money.

Desired Skills & Experience


In order to be considered for this appointment you will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as an educational leader developing a comprehensive understanding of whole school development and improvement,
preferably across a range of curricula.

In addition you will have extensive knowledge and practical experience of inspection procedures and practices alongside
exceptional analysis and evaluation skills.

Legal Counsel GEMS Education. - Dubai



Job Description

As a member of the corporate legal department you will manage a variety of issues across corporate and commercial law as well as supporting the business with real estate law, labour law  and general enquiries received from across the business.

Reporting to the General Counsel this role will provide legal advice and guidance on all relevant business issues, and implement processes to ensure awareness and compliance with legislation in a number of jurisdictions.

Responsible for drafting and negotiating MOUs, share purchase agreements, shareholders’ agreements, joint venture agreements, and management agreements, as well as development and lease agreements, managing the relationship with external legal practices, this role requires a commercially astute and experienced practitioner.

Desired Skills & Experience

A law degree (LLB/JD) from a recognised law school, admission as a lawyer/attorney in at least one jurisdiction, and a minimum of 3 years post qualification corporate/commercial experience, preferably with a top tier international law firm or large multinational organisation. Exposure to real estate and UAE labour law would be an advantage.

A pragmatic, commercially-minded individual with a focus on attention to detail and a strong commercial acumen; client service oriented; able to multi-task within deadline sensitive environments.
You will have strong technical, drafting and negotiation skills, strong communications and relationship skills (both verbal and written) both internally and with external legal service providers; ability to meet the day-to-day legal needs of different and diverse businesses and business units of a rapidly growing international business and to manage its legal risk.
